MAKE A DIFFERENCE
BECOME A VOLUNTEER TUTOR
Thank you for your interest in volunteering for the Write to Read Adult Literacy Program. We are looking for volunteer tutors with these qualifications:
· At least 18 years old
· No degrees or diplomas needed
· Comfortable with reading and writing in English
· Patient, empathetic, and willing to learn
· Able to commit to six months of service (or more)
There are several different volunteer opportunities available in our program. Please see the attached Overview of the Write to Read Program which describes these opportunities.
If you are interested in becoming a volunteer, or want more information about this program, please fill out the Volunteer Application form and send it back to us using the email address below.
Write to Read will provide you with a tutor orientation and training, plus seminars and workshops on reading, writing and teaching. You will have an opportunity to meet other tutors and discuss best practices during tutor roundtables. As a tutor you can volunteer to tutor one-on-one with a learner, facilitate a reading club group, assist in computer skills and job skills, help with the citizenship test or support the development of new educational programs and promotion of services for adult learners.
Your enthusiasm and belief that you can make a difference by helping others will enrich your involvement with Write to Read as well as help an adult learner succeed and advance in their life goals. Join us today.
Please feel free to call us for more information. (510) 745-1480
Thank you.

You ask to have the Volunteer Application form sent back to you, but I don’t see where it is to be sent. Please advise either email address or mailing address.
Thank you.
